Gladys LuElla Wilkinson Powell
1933-2016
LuElla Wilkinson Powell 83 went to be with her Savior on Thursday September 8 at home with her family by her side. Lu was born to Henry and Della Wilkinson on April 26, 1933 and grew up in Orem with her 3 brothers. In 1960 she married the love of her life, Wally Powell, together they had 9 children. Lu was blessed to meet the son she gave up for adoption after 53 years, it was her life dream to be able to meet him again.
For years Lu and Wally drove truck together as Wall-eye Pike and Krazy Lu. They also were foster parents for 45 years, and was mom and dad to countless children. She enjoyed camping, drinking coffee, and playing cards with family and friends. Lu was a very loving and giving person to all she meet. She know no strangers, as everyone she met was instant family.
Lu is survived by her children Larry, Gerry, Georgia, Debra, Anthony, Michele, Cathy, Betty, and Clinton. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Brother Gary and many foster children. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Lu is precede in death by her parents, husband Wally, son Earl, and bothers Kenneth and Scott.
Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 25th at Oasis Vineyard Church 1750 West (4160 So) Carriage Square at 4 pm.
