Glen T Bytendorp's Obituary
Glen Taylor Bytendorp
1959-2016
Born March 14, 1959 to Lain Seymour and Donna Kathleen Taylor Bytendorp in Murray, Utah. Glen died December 6, 2016 after a valiant 6 year battle with cancer. He astounded many with his strength to overcome. Glen loved nature, animals and the outdoors, which started at a young age with his family spending many weekends and most summer holidays in the mountains of Utah. His love for these things grew even deeper as an adult. Glen was an avid fisherman and hunter, even the ice and snow did not stop him from doing what he loved outdoors. Glen married Cynthia Lawry in September 1997. They would take every opportunity to spend time at their cabin near Starvation Reservoir. Glen had an incredible green thumb and grew a beautiful garden. All kinds of birds could be seen around his home as nature abounded there. Glen worked hard and was a loyal employee of Firestone Building Products for most of his adult life. He was a fortunate man with amazing and supportive friends. He will be sorely missed.
Glen is survived by his wife Cynthia, father, Lain Seymour Bytendorp, siblings: Linda (Duane) Schoenfeld, Terry Gandre (brother-in-law), Jim (Glenna) Bytendorp, John (Debra) Bytendorp, Fred Bytendorp, Carla (Craig) Mills and Reed (Shelly) Bytendorp, many nieces and nephews, his beloved dog, Sam and great long-time friends.
Glen is preceded in death by his mother, Donna K. Taylor Bytendorp, sister, Gilda Gandre, and his brother, Bruce T. Bytendorp.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 at the LDS church located at 6890 South Whitmore Way (2225 East) in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
Many thanks to Dr. MacPherson and the staff of Quality Hospice for staying by his side through all this.
