Gregory George Zmuda's Obituary
Gregory George Zmuda, affectionately known as Gary Z or Zmuda, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, at the age of 75. He was born on January 26, 1950, in Newark, New Jersey, and spent his final moments surrounded by his beloved brother, Zach, at Hunter Hollow Care Nursing Facility in West Valley City, Utah, where he received exceptional care.
Gregory is survived by his youngest brother, Zachary Glenn Henrion; sister, Beverly Johnson; uncle, Neil Larsen; uncle, Gail Larsen; aunt, Nellie Wall; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who cherished him deeply. He was preceded in death by his father, George Zmuda; mother, Ruby Larsen; and brothers, Bobby Zmuda and John Zmuda, along with several aunts and uncles.
Gregory held a special place in his heart for his childhood memories growing up in Park City, Utah, where he shared countless joyful moments with family and friends who were like family. He lived life to the fullest, embodying kindness, generosity, love, and care, all while maintaining a wonderful sense of humor.
A skilled carpenter and finish carpenter, Gregory had an amazing work ethic and a passion for the outdoors. He loved camping, fishing, and skiing, often reminiscing about the cherished moments spent with loved ones. In his later years, he took tender, loving care of his mother, Ruby Larsen, in her final years at their family home in Taylorsville.
In honor of Gregory’s life, a celebration of life will be held at a future date, allowing family and friends to come together to share memories and celebrate the joyful spirit he brought into their lives.
