Helen Fleta Slater's Obituary
Helen Fleta Slater, age 74, passed away July 1, 2021 in West Jordan, Utah. Born October 19, 1946 in Alta Dena, California to Gene and Helen Agnes Newman Powell.
Helen studied nursing and was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 24 years where she worked at the hardest units (Alzheimer’s, etc). She loved service and was a genuinely caring and loved others deeply. She loved genealogy and serving in the temple by proxy as well as a temple worker helping thousands of people in Heaven to find the gospel.
Helen is survived by her children Walter, Donnie, Jim, Gene (Jamie), and Chuck (Kristine); grandchildren Raven, Donnie Jr., Joseph, Isabella, Emilee, Bryson, Gabriel, Donovan, Wyatt, and Reagun; brother Jim Powell. Preceded in death by her parents and several granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the Copper Hills 7th Ward, 9227 South Wild Clover Lane, West Jordan, Utah with a viewing to begin at 9:30 am. Interment to follow at West Jordan City Cemetery.
