Issaac Xavier Chavez's Obituary
With extreme sadness, we announce the passing of Issaac Chavez, on Monday, August 14, 2023, surrounded by family, at Huntsman Cancer Institute. He was 38. Issaac was born and reared in Ogden Utah. His death was the result of terminal lung cancer. He is now at peace.
Issaac attended Lewis Elementary School, Wahlquist Junior High School, and graduated in 2003 from Weber High School. He also, attended and received certificates from the Weber Applied Technical College (WATC) in Ogden Utah.
Issaac did have his vises, that he had to deal with, and as a resourceful and creative person, he faced these challenges the best he knew how. He had his own philosophy of life and lived by it.
As a child Issaac was a little comedian and his quirkiness sense of humor followed him into adulthood. He also, was an inventor, and entrepreneur in his own right. He would find tools to make his inventions, but if there wasn’t a tool he needed, he would create one to complete his project, whether it was wood, metal, cloth, rocks, plastic. He loved to find things and objects from any and everywhere, in which he used to create. Whatever he touched, he created something useful, original, and beautiful. He could fix almost anything. In short, he really was a “MacGyver”, with one exception, he had no clue how to do basic maintenance on a car. He especially hated to gas up the car. Issaac made rosaries out of paper clips and gave them away, and if you were fortunate to get one, guaranteed it has never come apart. It was solid-heavy duty. He tried to start a business for one of his inventions which was a vest, that could hold sharp objects for beauticians, butchers, gardeners, hunters, and more. He tried to sell these by going door to door, and sold many, but it didn’t catch on, but not for the lack of trying and effort.
Issaac loved to sketch and draw pictures on any kind of medium, as well as, on his tablet in drawing apps. He was proud of his drawings and loved to give them away.
Issaac helped a lot of people that were struggling, he would literally give his last dollar to them, or give his only coat to someone he thought was in need. They wouldn’t even have to ask. If he was walking by and saw you struggling with anything or needed help, for instance moving furniture, mowing your lawn, or shoveling, you can be sure he would stop and help or do it himself. Issaac never met a stranger.
Issaac is survived by his mother Rita Perez Orosco, his stepfather Juan Orosco, sister Sara Orosco Early, brother-in-law Michael Early, niece Autumn, and his niece, Brighten Early, whom he loved the most in the whole world, and his Grandparents Tony and Lucinda Perez.
He is also survived by his father, Paul Chavez, and Grandmother Geraldene Chavez, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, too many to mention by name.
He is preceded in death by his Grandfather Diopoldo (Paul) Chavez, and Cousin Chelsea Chavez.
He will be missed by his special friends, Stan Matuszewski, Darla Jones, and Zina Reyes.
We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Moodibagel, Dr. Jackie Lloyd, Brandy, Val Leavitt, Chistopher, and many others from Mckay Dee Hospital, the Inn Between Home, April from Evolution Hospice Care, and many others, for caring, and being very patient with Issaac, through his battle with cancer.
