Jacob Glen Kirk's Obituary
On Sunday, September 25, 2022, Jacob Glen Kirk, husband, father, grandpa, farmer and boss, passed away at the age of 49 in his West Haven home from a failing liver.
Jake was born in Brigham City, Utah on August 2nd, 1973 to Glen Anthony Kirk and Claudia Miller. He grew up working a dairy farm & helping to repair & install appliances for his Grandpa. He graduated from Morgan Highschool in 1991.
On December 1st, 1995, he met and married the One, Molly Lou Madsen, in the Bountiful Utah Temple. They proceeded to raise 5 beautiful children, Madelynn, Emma, Case, Jillian and Jackie. Together they built a small mobile diesel mechanic business & later Jake reconnected to his roots through farming.
Jake really enjoyed making trucks & equipment work. He enjoyed collecting model trucks and tractors, coins, and his own personal armory. He had a passion for growing unique plants and flowers. As a classic curmudgeon and a professional provocateur, he would challenge every new person he met with a test. If they passed, they were friends for life. Often these tests included some off-color humor, which he enjoyed immensely. He had a great capacity to laugh at himself!
In the last few years of his life his favorite form of therapy was operating a machine in a field. Jake was very personable, extremely generous, and always looking to take care of the people around him.
Jake was preceded in death by his father, Glen, his mother, Claudia, and his niece, Jenna. He is survived by his Wife, Molly, his five children, Madelynn (Gregory), Emma, Case, Jillian, and Jackie, his two granddaughters, Charlotte and Georgia, his brothers, Jim (Jenny), Jared, his sister, Melissa (Charles), many nieces and nephews, and a dog he couldn’t decide to love.
