James Robert Corrigan's Obituary
James Robert Corrigan, age 85, passed away on November 17, 2020, in the Wentworth Care Facility in Draper, Utah. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 17, 1934 to Mary Foutz and James Wayne Corrigan. He moved with his family to California at three years of age, where he resided until December 2019.
Jim served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mexico. Following his mission, he married Donna Lou Hansen in the Los Angeles temple on January 16, 1959.
Jim worked in law enforcement for 25 years, the last ten years serving as police chief in Santa Paula, California and Salinas, California, respectively.
He spent his retirement years enjoying golf, gardening, and serving others as bishop and stake president. He also served as an ordinance worker in the Los Angeles Temple, later becoming a temple sealer.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Foutz and James Wayne Corrigan, and his sisters, Anne Peterson and Carol Consejero, and sister-in-law Cary Corrigan.
He will be missed by his wife of 60 years Donna Lou Corrigan, his brother, David F. Corrigan, his four children, Linda (Reid) Parker, Julie (John) Showaker, David (Denise) Corrigan, Steven Corrigan, 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
