Joy was such a unique, beautiful person. I was so impressed by her resilience, kindness, and positive attitude. I was her academic advisor for her chemistry degree, and she quickly became a friend. Even when I was undergoing my own health issues at Huntsman Hospital, she was able to comfort me about some of the hardships one goes through when they have a life threatening illness. I truly hoped and believed that her cancer would go away, as her outlook felt magical. She radiated positivity to everyone who was lucky enough to know her. What an ambitious, fabulous, fun, brilliant, sweet human that we have lost. Sending lots of love to her family and friends as we remember Joy.
I extend my condolences to Joy's family and friends. Joy's academic abilities were excellent and her outlook on life was truly inspirational. I was so happy for her when she was able to pursue her educational goals.
A visit from Joy and Jack - what a wonderful moment of the day. From the first challenges of how to incorporate puppy Jack into her lab work to visits after her graduation from the University - it was always a privilege to spend time with Joy and Jack. She inspired and impacted so many people and that will be one of her lasting legacies. I will miss her.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. What a beautiful young woman she was. And what a wonderful tribute that was written with so much love, I could actually feel it. I think her beautiful smile and amazing accomplishments will live on and inspire for many years to come. God bless you all.

Joy was more than just a friend to us, she was a true best friend. We first met her in 2021 when she was pursuing her Master's degree at the University of California, San Diego. Our mutual love for golden doodles - Jack and PP - brought us together and it was Joy's amazing spirit that solidified our friendship. Every moment spent with Joy was filled with happiness, laughter, and joy. She was an incredible cook and always delighted us with her delicious creations, like the pork ribs she made for Chinese New Year, the sushi she prepared for our hiking trip, and the beautiful omelets she made for Jack and PP on Valentine's Day. She always treated us with love and went out of her way to surprise us with thoughtful gestures. Despite facing challenges, Joy approached life with a positive attitude and worked hard to achieve her goals. She was truly one of the strongest and most optimistic girl we have ever met. Although Joy is no longer with us, her spirit and love for life continue to inspire us and we will miss her forever.
