She was born in Bell, California on August 14, 1935 to Herman and Hanna Missall. She grew up in Burbank, California where she graduated from John Burroughs High School. She married Melvin Duke in the Mesa AZ Temple on February 12, 1954. They made their home together in Burbank, California where she lived until she was 65. She moved to West Valley City, UT on her 65th birthday where she bought her own home. Our mother loved life and lived it to the fullest, up to the end. She was a dedicated wife, homemaker, accomplished musician, singer, and seamstress. She always looked for and found the fun in life and everyone who knew her considered her a good friend. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Melvin. She is survived by her three children: Steven (Patricia), Jana (Richard) Hope, and Kenneth (Melissa); 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Gay Goaslind. Her family was her greatest joy. She was a faithful member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints and showed her love for the Lord by serving in countless responsible callings. She loved going to the temple, driving her wheelchair on the sidewalks from her home to the Jordan River Temple, up until a week before she died. Her final years were spent in South Jordan, Utah in the loving home of her eldest son Steve and his wife Patti. She immensely enjoyed her days at the South Jordan Senior Center among her many friends Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2:30 at the South Jordan 7th Ward, 9750 South, 2200 West.
