Joan and Bob came to dinner at our home. We served meatloaf among other things. Instead of dessert, Joan wanted some more meatloaf. We sent some extra home with her. We heard later, one of the children, finding it in the refrigerator, ate it before Joan could.
Attending Sunday School class with Joan could be very instructive. When she was asked to clarify some Hebrew sayings, she could expand our understanding whether she was a class member or the teacher. If she was the teacher, she would write the Hebrew on the white-board, backwards for us, but normal in Hebrew. Yet, as a class member, she would frequently sit quietly if not called upon.
