I extend my sincere condolences to JoAnn’s family. I’m sure you will miss her dearly. I was a close friend of her sister, Janeen, and was able to interact often with JoAnn. She was always very warm and caring. And one time when I had an emergency situation and needed to go to the hospital, she watched my newborn baby for me for several hours. This meant so much to me and I knew my baby would have the best care.
JoAnn is also the one who inspired me to begin doing family history. When I observed her love for it and expressed a desire to do it when my many kids were grown and I had more time, she said, “You have 1 hour a month right now don’t you?” I decided I did and so I began. Many years have passed since that day and they have been filled with wonderful and joyful experiences with family history and temple work. I will always be grateful to JoAnn for her influence, her example, and her suggestion.
I also loved the relationship that Janeen and JoAnn had. They were a sweet example of loving and caring sisters in every way and I learned a lot from them. I’m sure that they are very happy to be together again in the spirit world. Kathleen Gardiner
