I was a missionary in the Eastern Atlantic Mission with "Elder Lamb." He was a delightful friend and missionary. He was loved by all and deeply respected. He served in the Mission Home as the financial secretary and was exceptional in running the "books" of the mission. The Mission President placed trust and great responsibility on Elder Lamb and he more than meet the expectations placed on him. Later he was enrolled in a class I taught in the Marriott School of Business at BYU. (He received an MPA based on his studies.) John was very smart and had high standards. I suspect he was the best student in the class. Over the years I had occasion to interact with people and families from the Grandview area and letting them know I knew John Lamb was always met with comments about how good he was. I know that he is on the other side making friends and helping others.

I'm just so sorry for the loss of your dear husband dad and grandpa. He was a true pillar in the community and well loved by his family and many friends. My heart goes out to you all as you grieve the loss of this dear man. May you find much peace in the days ahead. With much love, Hilda Gamette
He and Sister Lamb, were my Senior Missionaries in the Alief Ward (Houston, TX) . I have not met a finer man, sweeter couple or better missionaries. He told of the truths I would find, he was right, he told of the love i would feel, he was right, he told Heavenly Father would be pleased i had come to faith, he was completely right.
I shall miss you ...Heavenly Father will give you rest , restore and keep you.
John and I grew up together and attended school together. I was just a couple of months older than he was so we were of the same age. We always called him Dee and he was always fun, loving. When we were in junior high school at Central junior high in Provo, young men at that time went through a phase when they would wear taps on their shoes to make noise as they would walk down the halls at the school. I remember one day we were in the hallway and we heard this loud clumping coming down the hall, and there was Dee coming with some of the biggest taps on his shoes that I had ever seen. We all laughed and he enjoyed it. We went on many camping trips together as scouts and his dad also went with us many times. He provided help and comfort to my sister at a time when she needed it and that was very much appreciated. He will be missed, but he is in a better place now. Our hearts go out for you, Cristy and for the whole family. I lost my mother from an Our hearts go out for you, Cristy and for the whole family. I lost my mother from an automobile accident and so I know what it is like. Say hi to Mel and Carrie. Sincerely, Dave Price.
I remember John and Kristy well. John was friends with my brother Dave and Kristy and I were friends as children. Kristy lived just up the street on Jordan Avenue. John live just past the curvey road. I remember when his family moved in. We hard a close ward then that was the top of the Grandview Hill, south end. I remember John doing scouting with my brothers and I knew him at the State Hospital. I remember his warmth and understanding. He always had a helpful hand. John and Kristy were the romance of the 21st Ward. This is where they knew each other from. My heart goes out to Kristy and the family at this time. When my Mom passed away I received a letter from President Harold B Lee and his counselors in which it was stated "there is no fear in the death of a righteous person". My prayers are with you all.
