John James Peiffer's Obituary
John James Peiffer, born on October 28, 1982, died at the Intermountain
Hospital in Murray Utah, on July 30, 2025, at the age of 42.
John was born to James Frank Peiffer and Angela M Rutherford. John was
raised near Hershey Pennsylvania by James and Debra (Speck) Peiffer and
attended Central Dauphin High School. He was an Eagle Scout, Wrestler and
Cross-Country runner.
At the age of 19, John served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latterday Saints, for two years in Tijuana Mexico. John was a caring,
friendly, social, and hard-working young man who loved to be with his
family and welcomed everyone with a smile and a handshake. Whenever
anyone needed a helping hand, he would jump into action to make the job
easier. He enjoyed the outdoors, swimming, travel, chopping wood, fishing,
and hiking in nature.
John loved working as a high-rise window washer for many years.
Especially, when he could dress up as Superman or Spider-Man and wash
the windows at the Hershey Medical Center. The children loved seeing him
hanging out their windows and waved at him while he worked at the Penn
State Children’s Hospital.
Addiction was one of the hardships John carried in his life. While it
never defined him, it was part of his story- a story filled with compassion,
service, and a strong need to stand for the underdog.
Days before John passed away he had a massive brain bleed and was
rushed to the hospital. John was an Organ Donor, and, in his death, will help
many others to improve their life. This gave comfort to his family when his
life was cut too short.
John was the oldest child of four children, the brothers are Kenneth
Raymond Peiffer (Katherine), and Jared Wayne Peiffer (Alyssa) both in
Utah, a sister Rivka Ann Peiffer (Joe) in Pensacola Florida.
John had two children, Joshua Peiffer and Zariah Peiffer with Julia Choi,
who are being raised by brother Ken Peiffer and his family.
He loved his grandparents, neices and nephews, and extended family
members, and we know that those who passed on already, they will be
waiting for him to help him with his next amounts of caring service beyond
the grave.
There was a private family gathering in Utah.
We have come up with a time for our son
John Peiffer's "Celebration of Life".
John loved our family gatherings and Campfires at our home on Hershey Rd. The house was sold, so we found another place to gather with family and friends, to share memories. It will be an outdoor event close to his birthday! Please dress accordingly. We will be inside if the weather doesn't cooperate.
It will be on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 6:00-8:00PM. A short service followed by food and gathering. To be held at:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints,
216 Skyline Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050
Weather permitting it will be in the Pavilion, behind the church with a campfire for socializing afterwards. Bring a camp chair if you wish.
