John was a father figure for me and a good example of whom I looked up to. I remember spending mutual at his home with the other young men shooting pool and having root beer floats. He even sat and listened to me long enough for me to give him my Amway speech.:)
I do need to Thank John and maybe ask forgiveness from him though as I just didn't before I moved away from Lompoc. See, John would drive to church, park in the parking lot and leave his keys on top of the front tire of his car before going in to church (Celica? not sure), I think he did that because he had a lot of keys on the key ring and didn't want to carry all those keys in his pocket.
Well, I thought that was really kind of him to leave those keys there just in case someone needed to drive his car. So, being a young male teen with a newly awarded drivers license and without asking permission, I grabbed another teen with me and left during church to drive his car. We drove all around town and we might have gone to McDonalds, but that of course would be breaking the Sabboth. Anyway, thanks John for leaving your keys for us to drive your car. Your car is really really fast!
