You left too early cousin. I didn't even get that visit I kept trying to have with you, kehau, and the kids. Gosh nammit! Love you Julius, your the best cousin, and I know you loved your wife and family very much, your actions always spoke louder than words to me. Glad your free from all the physical pain too. See you later cuzz. Big afi afi to Kehau and the kids. 💞
My very limited understanding of the purpose of the drum or drums in Polynesian dancing, is that they both accompany and guide the dancers.
As I consider this and think of Julius and his amazing accomplishment in the art of drumming, it is most appropriate to think of him this way, as one who not only accompanied, but offered valuable guidance and love to those he loved and cared for, which are many.
While his mortal heart has stopped “drumming”, his spirit has not, and will continue to accompany and guide those he loved.
We look forward to a future day when we will unite with you Julius and once more enjoy the beat of your love, care, and laughter.

I am saddened by the loss of my brother in-law Julius. He was very special and processed some wonderful gifts and talents. I know one of the interests he enjoyed to tabble in from time to time was karaoke. I have fond memories of some of his past visits to Auckland were under his tutorage I progressed from being a truly awful performer to something resembling average. But of greater significance was the time we spent together that helped me gain confidence in myself and be a better person. The times that we shared together I shall never forget. You are a great teacher. I love you my brother.
