Kathryne Fielding Hart's Obituary
Kathryne Fielding Hart, 94, passed away December 13, 2015, surrounded by family in Orem, Utah. Mrs. Hart was born February 20, 1921, in Provo, the daughter of Lydia Alice Hammond and Franklin Downs Fielding. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers: Glen Howard, Ashton, David, Keith (her twin brother), Hal, and a daughter, Laurie Susan Hart. She is survived by two sons, Daniel Dennis (Sue) and Glenn Howard (Linda,) seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Kathryne attended schools in Provo, graduating from Provo High School in 1939. In 1945, she joined the U.S. Navy, serving in the Medical Corps during World War II. She was married to Daniel Raymond Hart of Pittsburg, PA, November 5, 1947, later divorced. Mr Hart was in the U.S. Army and during their marriage they lived in various places. Their first son was born in Provo, their second son in France, and their daughter in Illinois.
Mrs. Hart was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and devoted her whole life to her family and service in her church as an organist, chorister, teacher, and doing name extraction. She sang in ward choirs and was a member of a ladies quartette, The Accents, for a number of years singing at church, funerals, care centers, hospitals, clubs, etc. She also served as a counselor in Relief Society and music director in stake and ward primaries and MIA.
Funeral services are Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11:00 am, In the Geneva Heights 2nd Ward building, 590 North 900 West, Orem. A viewing will be the same day 9:30-10:30am. Graveside will be at the Provo City Cemetery.
