Kenneth Lee Ancell passed away on July 25th 2024 at the age of 76. He was born on June 19th 1948 in Salt Lake City Utah to Edward and Evelyn Ancell. He grew up in Bountiful Utah with his three sisters and one brother and graduated from Bountiful High School. After high school, Ken worked at Sperry Univac (later called Unisys) where he met his wife LaRae. They were married August 3rd, 1971 in the Salt Lake City Temple. After building a home and settling in Centerville, Utah, Ken & LaRae had two sons and one daughter.
Ken had a passion for airplanes. In his retirement Ken completed his dream of building an airplane. He started it in his garage and meticulously assembled an RV-9A two-seater plane. He finished it in his hangar at the Skypark airport in Woods Cross, in December of 2017. Ken enjoyed flying his plane around the valley.
Over the years he made several significant home improvements. Along with being such a handyman around the house he had several hobbies and interests that we all enjoyed experiencing with him.
Ken served in the Bountiful Utah temple for 9 years. He loved going there to serve the Lord and feel the spirit. He was loved very much by those at the temple who worked by his side. His last few moments on earth were spent in the temple.
Ken is survived by his wife of 53 years Martha LaRae (Stevens) Ancell and three children, David (Elizabeth) Ancell, Jerry (Lindsey) Ancell, Emily (Andy) Hartvigsen, 15 grandchildren, and his three sisters, Nancy Loveridge, Susan Johnson, and Annette Ancell.

Ken was a gentle giant with a big heart. He truly cared and loved all of his family. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.
