Kent Cyril Harmon's Obituary
Our father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Kent Harmon passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025. He was born on June 11, 1944, and just celebrated his 81st birthday. He spent his birthday evening enjoying Chinese food and talking “all things fishing” with his son-in-law, John Jones.
Kent was a hard worker throughout his life. In his younger years, he worked as a yard foreman for Union Pacific Railroad. He was also a long-haul truck driver, hauling many loads of logs and explosives across the country. He was a skilled tradesman in many different areas, including drywall and welding. During much of his life, he worked as a drywall finisher and owned his own business, Moonlight Drywall. He was very skilled at his different trades and took pride in his work. He loved hunting, reloading bullets, and fishing. Some of our family’s fondest memories were being on the lake with him in his boat.
Kent was preceded in death by his father, Cyril B. Harmon, his mother, Lena Thompson Doe Warner, and recently by his brother, Scott Doe. He is survived by his six siblings, and his four children, Tina (Barte) Hess, Cindy (John) Jones, Douglas (Jenifer) Harmon, and Alexandrea Harmon. He enjoyed being a grandpa to his nine grandchildren and his three great grand-daughters. He held a special place in his heart for Rhylee Harmon and Taylor Harmon. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Kent was about simplicity and did not want a funeral. Cremation will take place at his request. We invite you to please privately celebrate Kent’s memory in your own way. We know he will be with all of us in spirit. His ashes will be spread at his favorite fishing hole.
