Kristi Ann Hutchings' Obituary
Beloved mom, daughter, sister and great friend Kristi Ann Hutchings, age 51, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024, from ovarian cancer. She fought a valiant fight against her cancer to stay alive much longer than expected.
Kristi was born February 4, 1973, in Garland, Texas to her loving parents, Wayne and Sylvia Yardley Hansen. Her early years were spent in Garland, San Antonio, Austin and Flower Mound, Texas. She graduated from Marcus High School in 1991 and attended Brigham Young University for 2 years. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Zurich, Switzerland from 1994-1995.
Kristi married Chad William Hutchings, March 21, 1998, with whom she later divorced. After having her three wonderful children she resumed her education and earned a degree in Industrial Hygiene from Utah State University in 2017. Kristi worked in Bethlehem, PA, before returning to Utah to work in Health Insurance Sales.
Kristi loved life. She had many wonderful friends who were a great support until the end of her life. Kristi was constantly trying to better herself, attending many classes, workshops, and conferences. After being diagnosed with cancer, Kristi was determined to live life to the fullest. She sought out interests that would challenge her to be bold and brave such as stand-up comedy and karaoke, which ended up being one of her favorite pastimes. She loved the theater and the arts, especially the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, Utah.
Kristi was loved by all. She had a beautiful smile that could light up any room and gave the absolute best hugs. She was a great mother and deeply loved her three children.
Kristi is survived by her children, Will 23, Xander 20, and Nathaniel 14, her parents, Wayne and Sylvia Hansen, Bountiful, Utah and her five siblings, Mark (Jeanna) of Highlands Ranch, CO; Jen (Sam Session) of Henderson, NV; Matt (Kate) of Indian Land, SC; Michelle (Greg Misener) of Bountiful, UT, and Jon (Heidi) of Draper, UT.
A Celebration of Life Date, November 29th from 7 pm to 10 pm at Athena VII, 111 West 9000 South, Sandy, UT. Please wear something purple, Kristi's favorite color.. In lieu of flowers a Go Fund Me has been set up for Kristi’s children.
