LaRue was born in Salt Lake City to Gerhardt and Erna Drechsel October 28, 1939. She grew up in Pioneer Stake. She had a happy childhood in a neighborhood where many of her uncles, aunts, and cousins lived. She graduated from Wes Read Obituary
LaRue was a joy to work with at the Provo Temple. I loved working with her in the baptistry. She always made me feel special and loved and it wasn't the same if she wasn't there. She was a valiant disciple of Jesus Christ. Till we see you again, LaRue!!
I just watched the memorial service on zoom. It was real nice. My heart goes out to all the cousins. It was great to hear your talks. Your Mom was a great woman. So many memories. I agree that its so hard to condense a life as well lived as hers into one brief memorial service. You all did really well. She will be sorely missed. But take heart in the knowledge we have through the restoration of the plan of life and salvation. She is not gone, just transitioned. Families are forever. I was glad we got to see her and Uncle Al at the Provo city center temple last year when Kim and I got sealed. I thought she looked great then. Fiesty as ever. Kim was having guilt about not saying thanks for the gift they gave us. So thanks for that. The note never got mailed. It still sits in our cars glove box. Aunt Larue will always live large in my memories. She was always so good to me. Always had nice things to say. I appreciate her for that and all she did over the years. God bless all of you at this time from Kim and Steven out here in Roseburg Oregon. We love our family and our thoughts and prayers are with uncle Alvin and all my cousins.
To the family we send our sincere condolences on the passing of LaRue. We have been associated with the Rencher family for many years--back to the days when I was a teacher at Timpview High School. We were in the Provo Sharon East Stake for a long time. LaRue was a fun person to know. She always had a smile on her face, and a warm greeting when we met.. Al, LaRue and their children lived across the street from us for many years. Literally, our families grew up together. From the start, they quickly became dear friends. LaRue, ever smiling and disarmingly easy to talk with, always seemed to know about the lives around her--and was always involved in their welfare. She was ever quick to reach out, to offer help. And, she knew more about every ward member than I did--and I was the bishop! LaRue always returned to friends in the ward for weddings and funerals. She loved us as much as we loved her. Cecil Clark
