Lee Robert Lyon's Obituary
Lee Robert Lyon, 82 passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018. He passed peacefully in his home in Lehi, UT with his wife and daughter at his side.
Lee was born on March 24, 1935, in Salt Lake City, UT, and was raised in southern California. He was preceded in death by his Mother Emma Lucile Tucker Lyon and Step-Father Arthur W. Lyon, as well as 3 brothers Andy Roberts, Don Roberts and Lynn Roberts.
Lee will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jan (Janet Elaine Miller Lyon) of 63 years, and his children, Dave Lyon (Liz), Terri Lyon Iverson, Jeff Lyon (Gladys), and Jim Lyon (Georgette). Lee will also be fondly remembered by his 17 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
Lee taught for 30 years as a High School art teacher in Alhambra, CA. He loved the youth and has always worked closely with them in various positions of leadership. He was the owner and operator of Camp Shi-ini for 22 years in South Pasadena, CA. He also designed jewelry and neck ties for his company Lyon Design Studio for 22 years.
He has held numerous positions in the LDS Church. He and his wife served in the LDS temple and a mission in Nauvoo, IL where they made wonderful memories.
He loved to spend time with his family and friends and was always ready for an adventure! Some of his hobbies included being outside, going to the beach, driving a clean fast car, sailing, and photography. Lee loved traveling and made every effort to support his children and grandchildren in all of their events. He taught all of his children to work hard, be honest and have a positive attitude in everything they did. He remains an example to his family and all who knew him.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 2790 North Center St. Lehi, UT where a viewing will be held Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 am. Interment will follow at the Highland City Cemetery. 6200 W 11000 N, Highland, UT.
