Linda Black's Obituary
Linda Black passed away from melanoma cancer at the age of 57 in her South Jordan home surrounded by her husband, children, mother, sisters and many others who loved her dearly.
Linda was born in Cedar City, Utah to Elved and Marlene Williams. She spent most of her childhood in Santa Clara, Utah. She graduated from Dixie High School where she participated in the Jetettes dance team and Executive Council. Linda also studied at Dixie State College where she received her associate degree, participated in Executive Council, sang in the Program Bureau, and met the love of her life Norman Black.
Norman and Linda were married in December 1981 in the St. George Temple. They have four amazing sons and made a beautiful life together living in Mississippi, Oklahoma, Nevada, Italy, Colorado, Hawaii, and most recently Utah. Linda loved nature and found the beauty in everything around her. She would never say no to an adventure and left no trail unexplored. Linda was an exceptional florist, healer, and was most recently had been called as a service missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to make floral arrangements for temples. Linda was an incredible disciple of her Savior, Jesus Christ, always willing to serve and share her powerful testimony with those around her. She loved the scriptures and the temple and had an unwavering faith in her Heavenly Father’s plan and always followed the promptings she received from the Spirit.
Above all, what Linda valued most was her title of Mother and Grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally and through her actions and words, she made sure they all knew it. When the grandchildren were outside, LInda could be seen pushing them on the swing, jumping with them on the trampoline, or running around playing a game with them.
Linda is survived by her husband Norman Black and four sons Skyler (Kellie), Christopher (Malley), Cory (Katie), and Brandon as well as twelve beautiful grandchildren, her mother Marlene Williams, and siblings Alisa Willett, Ross Williams, Hal Williams, and Brenda Johnson. She was welcomed back to her heavenly home by her father Elved Williams.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 2 pm at 3407 W 9625 S in South Jordan, UT. There will be a memorial room where the family will welcome guests an hour prior to the service. Linda will be laid to rest next to her father in Parowan, Utah the following day.
