Jeanette Chaston Swalberg
Louise was a natural teacher. She taught me in Primary and Sunday School. As a teacher, I often drew from Louise's example of treating each student as an individual-ensuring they each felt important and loved.
At girl's camp, she was an example of capable confidence. She made camp tasks fun-we didn't know we were learning! I still remember the Biffy Queen contest, probably because I won. The contest consisted of us girls running through camp shouting "I'm the Queen of the Biffy!" As loud as we could. Whoever won didn't have to clean the outhouses.
Yes, I was the loudest.
As a single mom, I drew strength from Louise's example. I knew I could do it because Louise did it. She did it with class, style, humor and love.
Like Louise, I lost a son too soon. Again, I knew I could get through it. Louise did.
So grateful for Louise's dear friendship with my mother and for the great influence she was in my life.
My love to you Huefner kids:
Jon-Jon, Becky, Bill, Joey, Cathy, Howie and Andrew
