Lucinda “Cindy” Andersen was born on September 25,1952 in East Millcreek, Utah, the fourth of four daughters to Harmon and Nadeene Rees Andersen. At the age of 5 Cindy was struck by a car while crossing 2300 East after visiting a Read Obituary
I had the good fortune of participating in a number of K-12 GIS groups and events over the years with Cindy and others. She was one of the great pioneers in getting GIS into the K-12 schools in Utah and helping the mentors with this great work. She is one of a kind and will be missed.
Cindy Clark was a part of my GIS family. She passed away Thursday and I will miss her dearly.
Cindy was quietly a pilar in the GIS community. Many depended on the SGID that she managed for years. She was instrumental in obtaining the ESRI Statewide licence which provides free GIS software access to every public K-12 classroom/computer lab in the State and in organizing the GIS Day event in Salt Lake County. My fondest memories with Cindy were at these events which were at times very chaotic, but always very fun. It was my honor to have been a small part of these great annual events. She touched the lives of many, many students.
She always had a smile for me and never talked poorly about anyone or any thing. She had an enormously large heart. I will miss her.
Cindy was a client of mine, I always loved her high spirit and strength. We always had great conversations. She was beautiful and strong and was an inspiration in so many ways. She will be missed greatly.
Cindy was a favorite of all the alumni of Madrid High School of which Allen graduated from. She was a joy to talk to and to know. She also loved puzzles as they were posted on Facebook.
Cindy, Im grateful I got the opportunity to know you through Allen. You two were 2 peas in a pod with your love of football, especially the U of U, your love of Legos and puzzles and your love of each other. I’m sure you are in a better place with your memories intact.
