I met Gus at a time in my life when I wanted someone to like me and accept me. I wanted this so much I did a lot of things to gain acceptance.
Gus had told me one time I worry too much what others think of me and I need to accept myself and not worry about what anyone thinks about me.
I have not seen Gus in 30 years, but I have always remembered the advice he gave me.
I have thought about his words many times since then. Over the weekend I was talking to my granddaughter about these word and told her that a very special person had told me this.
Please know that Gus was a very special person who helped others in many ways. He will live on though his advice.
I had not had many friends in my life and I am sure Gus would not consider me a friend. But I had to let his family know that he was an inspiration to me and helped me to learn to accept myself and change my life style.
RIP GUS
