Marshall West Lundberg's Obituary
Our sweet Marshall returned to his Father in Heaven on July 22, 2018. He lived a life of selfless charity and was a true friend to everyone he met.
Marshall was born in Walnut Creek, California on October 22, 1978, and promptly moved to Utah two weeks later, where he resided all his life. His parents, Enfred Jon Lundberg and Jane Lucille Pack Lundberg, cherished him as their 8th and final child.
Marshall married his eternal valentine, Noelle Hansen, on August 17, 2000 in the Salt Lake Temple. They cherished each other. Marshall adored his children, Summer Grace, Trenton West and Tiffany Faith, who were the joys of his life.
From a young age Marshall was drawn to the outdoors and loved to spend countless hours fishing, hiking, and spending time with family and friends in nature. Nature was his solace. He loved to share his fishing knowledge and Dutch oven cooking skills with anyone willing to partake. Marshall loved to fish Strawberry Reservoir, the Weber River, Schofield Reservoir, or any pond that was stocked with fish! His love of the outdoors was contagious. His other passion was for BYU sports. He would get season tickets with his wife and brother Dave every year to football. Through wins and losses Marshall was always supportive of his beloved BYU Cougars. He was true blue through and through.
The bond between Marshall and his children is unbreakable and eternal. Marshall and Summer shared a love for Karate, and he was so proud of her for receiving her Black Belt in May. Trenton and Marshall developed a love for Pokémon Go, and would spend hours together finding rare Pokémon. Tiffany was treasured by Marshall, and he had the opportunity to stay home and take care of her for the past year and a half.
Before marrying Noelle, Marshall served an LDS Mission in the Sao Paulo Brazil North Mission. He truly loved the people of Brazil, and blessed countless lives with his service. He remained in contact with many of his missionary companions and friends in Brazil throughout his life, and longed to return there someday.
All his life, Marshall was the epitome of charity. He lived it, preached it and even had a ring made in high school with the initials “CNF” which stood for charity never faileth. It wasn’t simply a motto, it was his way of life. He never hesitated to serve someone, or help them, or provide a listening ear. He had a spiritual depth and wisdom that was a blessing to everyone. He knew what they were feeling before they even told him. He used this gift to inspire and guide many people in the right direction.
Heavenly Father knew Marshall was a warrior, and gave him challenges that he embraced and fought through to the end. Even in his hardest trials, he strove to serve and ensure everyone else was taken care of. He had the heart of a giant and was the perfect example of a faithful, dedicated and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Marshall is preceded by his parents. He is survived by his best friend and eternal companion Noelle, his special daughter Summer, his spirited son Trenton, and his sweet baby girl, Tiffany. He is also survived by his siblings Jennifer Williams (Wade), Michael Lundberg (Julie), Keith Lundberg, Merilee Hunt (Lorin), Linda Hertz (Chad), Grant Lundberg (Angela) and David Lundberg (Tonya). Father-in-law Mike Hansen (Lori), Mother-in-law Chris Hansen, brother-in-law Casey Hansen (Hollie), brother-in-law Tylor Beveridge (Julie), brother-in-law Brady Hansen, and brother-in-law Rory Bement.
Marshall will be remembered and cherished at a service on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center located at 8485 S 1000 E, Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held at the same location on Thursday, July 26th, from 6-8:00 p.m., and from 9:30-10:30 Friday.
Marshall had a tradition of giving away his own necktie to missionaries, grooms, or anyone celebrating a special occasion. He would love it if you brought one of yours to share with him.
