Mary Lou (Louise) Giusti Park's Obituary
Mary Lou, Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend passed away on April 18, 2025 in her home located in Sandy, UT.
Mary Lou was born on September 21, 1949 to Louis Giusti and Mary Giusti in New Bedford, Massachusetts and raised in the Dartmouth, MA area. She grew up with the love of cooking and worked in her father’s pier restaurant for many years, starting from a young age until she married and moved from Dartmouth, MA to Salt Lake City, Utah with her husband in 1971.
Mary Lou meet the love of her life Michael (Mike) Park and they married on September 19, 1971. They had a long and loving marriage full of laughter and building a life full of memories together.
Mary Lou moved from Salt Lake City, UT to Stockton, CA in 1985 with her husband. This is where she raised her two sons, Mathew and James. Mary Lou would do anything for her boys, and you knew it.
She dedicated many years working at Stockton Unified School District until the family moved back to Salt Lake City, UT in 2010. She then worked for Health South until her retirement in January, 2024.
Mary Lou was a woman of many talents, She loved caring for her children and grand children, cooking, and making a “home” for her family.
Mary Lou was the kind of person you knew you could call on and she would be there to help, no questions asked. She loved to have a glass of wine while talking and laughing with all. She loved the holidays. Decorating and cooking were her favorite, especially for Thanksgiving, as she would spend endless hours in the kitchen just to see the pure joy of family and friends gather and enjoy the feast she had created.
Mary Lou will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a proud, loving, caring, and vibrant woman who could bring joy to any situation.
We will miss her witty sarcasm, big hugs, and infectious laugh.
She is survived by her Sons; Mathew (Nikki) Park, and James Park; Grandsons, Cody Park, Corbin Park, and Jaxon Gollaher; Her sweet and unwavering companion, Apollo, who was always by her side and always such a good boy; and many Sister In-Laws, Nieces, and Nephews.
She is preceded in death by her Husband of 54 years, Mike Park; Mother, Mary Fraga Giusti; Father, Louis Giusti; and Brother, Paul Giusti.
A special note to her best friend, Alissa (Alan) Maynard: Thank you for all the endless love and laughs you provided and for always truly being there for her.
A memorial service will be held at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial park Chapel on May 2, 2025 at 11 AM followed by a graveside dedication at 12PM.
