Smith Family Children: So sorry for your loss. I served with your father in the stake presidency many years ago and we got to know your mother very well. What an outstanding lady she was. So pleasing to be around and a true christian spirit. My wife and I are both from Idaho Falls and knew your mother's family. Your uncle Doug was a friend of mine way back when we were kids. Mary was one of a few young women leaders who helped me be the woman and mother that I am today. As a youth, I could feel the Savior's love and by just being in the same room with her and I grew to know that I was a daughter of a loving Father in Heaven. And as I had the privilege to baby sit her children, I also saw examples of what kind of a mother I wanted to be. Thank you to all the Smith Family for your love and acceptance of a lanky, tall young woman. I love you Mary and look forward to catching up with you when we meet again.
My heartfelt sympathy to the Haddock family descendants of Mary's parents, Ray and Phyllis Haddock. Ray was a brother to Grove Marden Haddock, formerly of Bear Lake and then to Meridian, Idaho. Grove Haddock is the grandfather and great grandfather of our many family members, some of them Utah residents. Mary Ann is my beautiful aunt. I have known her my whole life. These are things I think of when I think of MaryAnn; love, kindness, laughter, and beauty. Some of my happiest childhood memories are the fun times I had staying at her home. Aunt Mary Ann is so good at making things beautiful! Every time I see her, she says something sweet. I love her dearly.
I remember when Mary Ann and Susie danced wearing coconuts, ( over clothing ! ) Always so fun!!!
