Dear Matty,
Do you remember the day we met? Me too. How could we forget such a funny experience. It was political science class at UVU. What an amazing professor we had... full of semi inappropriate dry humor that made the class tolerable. That day he dared someone 5 or 10$ to dance at the front of the room while wearing oversized MC-Hammer pants. I don't even know now the point he was trying to prove but there you were on the edge of your seat waving your hand in the air while silently screaming, "oh, pick me! pick me! But, you had no competition. So, Naturally, he chose you. I just knew I had to get this moment on video. And I'm certainly glad I did. (What ever happened to that video?) you killed it. Of course. Later, after exchanging contact info and emailing you a most epic college moment, we were friends for life. It just happened that way. We spent the rest of the semester snickering through class and poking fun at other classmates. It wasn't long before you, me and that politically savvy gal Melissa were given the name "hecklers at the back of the room" by our beloved professor. You say that you couldn't have gotten through that class without me... the feeling is mutual.
That winter we spent a few random evenings playing in the snow, making chocolate covered yummy things, going to see a couple of plays and even a movie night now and then. One of my favorites was driving through a Christmas Lit park with you. You are always so much fun to be with. I remember how much my cheeks hurt by the end of the nights from smiling and laughing the entire time. You are so adorable and I'm not even mad about it.
...eventually you got a boring job at the UVU library, thank goodness. Because then I knew right where to find you when I needed some Matty time. I know you hate when people call you Matty. You told me so. But then you also told me that you kinda liked it when I called you Matty and that I was the ONLY one whom you would ever allow to call you that. Ever. Awe! I just love you!
Thanks for always keeping in touch all these years. We have had such great conversations, such fun memories. every time!
I was bummed when you left UVU to pursue your dreams elsewhere. Rude. wink emoticon;) But, I loved visiting you in Cedar City. And I loved it even more when you finally came back to "happy valley." No matter the time between visits we never missed a beat. We just picked up where we left off. We genuinely shared our lives with each other, you and I, like real friends do. You are one of a kind. Thank you. For so much. Even for visiting me in the hospital on New Year's Eve when I had my appendix out. What a great friend. You have such a big heart! I will deeply cherish our memories, Forever. Too soon my dear freind. Too soon.
Much Love,
