Maxine Crossley Cutler's Obituary
Maxine Crossley Cutler, beloved sister, wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025 at the age of 82.
Born on October 13, 1942, in Ontario, Oregon, Maxine was the second child of Melvin and Lucille Crossley. She lived in Fruitland, Idaho during her childhood, alongside her older brother Ferrel and younger brother Clifford. In 1957, her family moved to Goodrich, Idaho, when her father purchased a cattle ranch.
Maxine loved the animals on the ranch, especially her horse Beauty and later trained the colt Tony. Maxine loved to ride her horse with friends and amazingly stayed safe even when in precarious situations like herding cattle in rocky areas or racing home into a small corral area.
After graduating from Council High School, Maxine attended Brigham Young University for three semesters and then worked for the U.S. Forest Service. During this time, she was exchanging letters with Stan Cutler as he served a mission in Berlin, Germany.
On December 17, 1965, Maxine married Stan in the Idaho Falls Temple. On that special day, Maxine was also sealed for eternity to her parents and brothers. Stan and Maxine were blessed with four children: Diane, Kevin, Mike, and Terry. The family lived in California, Idaho, and Washington as the children grew up.
Maxine was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to cook delicious meals for her family. Feasting on roast beef, crescent rolls, lasagna, holiday meals, and canned peaches are treasured family memories. During family reunions, the grandkids would eagerly collect “Cutler Cash” for tasty purchases at “Grandma’s Store”. Maxine also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crafting. Her talent for home decor and hospitality was evident to all who entered her home.
After retiring in Alpine, Utah, Stan and Maxine served missions at the LDS Employment Services and BYU Family History Library. Stan and Maxine enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren, especially for important life events.
Maxine is reunited with her loving husband Stan, parents Melvin and Lucille Crossley and granddaughter Alexis.
Maxine is survived by her children Diane Mancini (Marcello), Kevin (Roxanne), Mike (Kahna), Terry (Shea); siblings Ferrel (Doris) and Clifford (Gwen); 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
