I miss you so much Mama! I love you!
Naida Brooks is my grandma. I will never forget all the times she read to me before bed and watched chick flicks with me. She was an amazing woman and one whom I will always look up to. When times were rough nana was always there and always ready to give advice and love. I miss her so much and I’m so grateful she chose to be my grandma. Love you nana see you again someday<33
My prayers go out the Brooks & Joffs families during this time. I never meet Naida, but the stories Amy shares with me sound like she was a wonderful caring person. Hold on to those memories and cherish the time you had with your mom.
THIS IS A VERY DIFFICULT LETTER TO WRITE. NAIDA WAS SUCH AN INTEGRAL PART OF MY LIFE FOR MANY YEARS BEGINNING WITH OUR FRIENDSHIP AT CHURCH. THEN WE WENT TO H.S. TOGETHER FOR TWO YEARS AT WITHROW HIGH SCHOOL. IN CINCINNATI. AFTER MANY YEARS WE MET AGAIN IN PROVO, UTAH WHEN JIM AND NAIDA AND THEIR FAMILY WERE LIVING IN OREM, UTAH. BARBARA AND I WERE ENGAGED AT THE TIME, AND SPENT MANY FUN-FILLED HOURS WITH THEM . NAIDA ALWAYS OFFERED TO HAVE US OVER FOR DINNER AND SHARED HER WONDERFUL COOKING WITH US. WE ALWAYS FELT WELCOME, AND SHE HAD THAT TRUE GIFT...THE ONE THAT THE SAVIOR REFERS TO AS "THE GREATEST OF ALL...THE GIFT OF CHARITY. AND ALTHOUGH SHE HAS GONE, THE FOND MEMORIES OF HER LINGER ON, AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING HER AGAIN ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VEIL.
OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHIES TO ALL THOSE SHE LEFT BEHIND...ESPECIALLY TO HER ETERNAL COMPANION...JIM.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL...WE WILL BE THINKING OF YOU TODAY, AND WISH WE COULD BE THERE WITH YOU.
ALL OUR LOVE
BOB AND BARBARA
All of her friends here in Albuquerque love and miss her so much. She was often the life of the party telling stories that would make us all laugh. She would bring large platters of candy and nuts to our gatherings and then insist that she was not taking anything home with her. If you visited her in her home, you could never leave empty handed. There was always a goodie or two that you needed to take with you. We will miss our special friend, Naida!

My husband and I lived across the street from Naida and Jim in Albuquerque. We spent many nights playing board and card games with them and having Totino's pizza's for dinner. During the week she and I would do lunch at Sweet Tomatoes and spent the afternoon shopping at Target. I loved it when she would make 5 way Chili. Although it was hard to leave ALL of our neighbors in Albuquerque, it was the hardest to leave Jim and Naida, when we moved back to Knoxville, TN. They became our family. I will miss Naida so much and my heart breaks that I will never have the chance to see her again. WE love you Jim and have said many prayers for you.
There's been a huge void in Albuquerque since Jim and Naida left almost a year ago!
We have so many fond memories of this gracious loving couple. Naida loved it when Chet called her 'homie and I loved being her friend. It was the best when I could take her to her appointments, she always had candy to give to her doctors and nurses, she said it helps with getting good appointments.. We always stopped at Chick Fil A on the way home where she filled her pockets with mints!
When Jim and I cleaned out the kitchen we found bags of them. I'll always cherish the last time I took her to the doctor, when we got outside she said "I want you to do everything you want to now because someday you won't be able to." As we both cried I knew she was right. Thank you Jim for sharing Naida with us.
All our love to you and your wonderful children!
I met my sister-in-law Naida back in 1954 but it wasn’t till 1965 that she made me sit down and eat one of her stuffed green bell peppers. I have spent the last 50 years trying to find one half as good. Naida and I spent a lot of time laughing at silly things together- Great memories.
I was name after her my middle name jean she was a special person
Love and condolences to Jim and all of the family. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this tender time.
