Naida Jean Brooks' Obituary
Naida Jean Brooks passed away March 14, 2018 at Meadows Memory Care in St. George, UT. Naida was born May 21, 1936 in Cincinnati, OH to Jewell and Walter Hicks. Naida grew up in Cincinnati and graduated from Withrow High School. She later married James G. Brooks in the Logan Temple in 1955. They made their home in Cincinnati and later in Florida, Provo, UT and Madison, WI while James attended college and graduate school respectively. James and Naida made Canton, OH their permanent home in 1972 where they raised their six children. They retired to Albuquerque, NM in 2005. Naida was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was always serving others and took pride in being a wonderful mother and wife.
Naida was preceded in death by her parents, Jewell & Walter Hicks and her brother Theodore Hicks.
Naida is survived by her husband of 62 years, James G. Brooks; sons James (Linda) Brooks , Mark (Beckie) Brooks, Benjamin (Christine) Brooks and daughters Julie (Brian) Christensen, Kelly (Antone) Mickelson and Amy (Darren) Joffs; brother Charles Hicks. She leaves behind cherished memories to her 24 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held March 23, 2018 in the Chapel at Veteran’s Memorial Park 17111 South Camp Williams Rd, Bluffdale, UT at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Veteran’s Park Memorial Cemetery.
