He was always so nice and welcoming to me. I enjoyed our banter during card games. I'll never forget him giving Wyatt his first haircut. I don't know which one was more scared!
My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
I went with my dad to have Ned cut my hair for years before moving to Atlanta. I have never found a better barber and the barbershop was one of a kind. Always enjoyed our conversations and got to know him after growing up in the Roy 12th ward with his family. I will always remember him giving my oldest son his first haircut. My dad and mom (Gene and Sharon Jones) loved the Opheikens family. Wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time. - Steve Jones
Claudia, I’m sorry to hear of your loss. I would imagine he and Gale are having a lot of laughs now. My thoughts are with you.
I am so sorry to hear of Ned's passing. I remember back in 1962 or 63, Claudia, Kathleen Allred and I were dragging the boulevard (Washington Blvd) in my 1953 four-door Ford.
We saw a car full of cute boys, and Ned was one of them! We stopped to say hello to them, and there were four of them. Ned and Claudia hit it off immediately, and the rest is history! Kathleen and I dated the two brothers in the car, Wynn and Ellis Farrell, but it went nowhere. It was a great memory!
My prayers are with you all at the loss of your loved one. I have good memories of double dating with them. They have been awesome friends even though we don't see them often.
My dear Opeikens family! We are so sorry for your loss! Ned holds a dear and special place in our hearts! I will miss that big smile and the bear hug that followed! We are away and won’t be able to attend, but we are sending all our love and hope for peace! ❤️❤️❤️
