He was a great coworker and friend to me at Weber High. I remember having good talks with him after school. He was gentle and kind. We sure missed him when he retired.

Ashley McRoberts lit a candle in memory of Nick LaMarr

I was shocked when I heard this. Heartbroken. I do not have the familiarity that many of you do but our interactions were great. My family and I live across the street from you. While we didn’t see each offer often it was a pleasure when we did and we had some great conversations. I wish we had gotten to know each other’s families better. I saw you as the protector of the neighborhood. You seemed to be watching out for all of us. We have four kids and that gave me great comfort knowing you would give me the heads up for any strange people or situations. I’m 41 and you called me Kiddo, lol. I love that. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Thanks for being a kind neighbor. Sincerely, The McRoberts family: David, Ashley, Kenzie, Madden, Hayes and Oaklyn. Sending so much love
I would like to send my condolences to the LaMarr family. I had the privilege to work with Nick. It’s hard to believe that was driving a school bus, with his scruffy voice and tough demeanor. But the kids loved him and that made him happy. R. I. P. Nick

Oh LaMarr thats what all the students called you! You will be sorely missed by so many. Thank you for being my Son Trevors Teacher, Mentor, and most of all friend. All of your students at Weber High School just adored you and looked up to you. You were so positive with them and always encouraged them and made them feel important. You were definitely one of a kind! Thank You for being a teacher the kids will always remember. Rest in peace with the angels my friend. You made the world a better place❤️
There’s a few people who truly made a difference in my life and Mr. Lamar was one of them. He really ignited a drive for me towards being a mechanic and is the reason I started out in heavy duty diesel after hearing his story’s of working in the mines on equipment. He sent me to the state SkillsUSA competition and really believed in me. Every time I ran into him he was so excited to hear about what I was working on and where my jobs were taking me. He was a true OG and gave so many kids like me a new vision without the narrative of having to go to college that all the other teachers had. I’m sure he’s giving heaven some hell doin burnouts or on a Harley. I hope his family understands how much he truly meant to a lot of us.
Seeing this obituary was a shock, my condolences LaMarr family; you were like my second home for a couple years of my life. I’m sure I was there more than you desired, but you were always willing to let me be there.
Nick was an amazing man; scary as hell, definitely someone you’d want with you in a dark alley. :) He was also a jokester and could make you laugh. He was a loving defender of his family and it was clear they were his #1 priority in all he did. He had a passion for motorcycles and it was fun to see him build a custom Harley from the ground up. I certainly wish I would have tapped into more of his knowledge on mechanics, he could fix anything.
I was always welcome at his dinner table, to sleep on his couch/floor/trampoline, boating to Pineview, Crystal Hot Springs or trips to Wyoming in the Astro van.
To say he experienced the full spectrum of life would be an understatement. Though his light no longer shines in mortality, it continues in heaven. I look forward to the day we will see you again amigo. Thank you for being in the lineup of father figures in my life, you will be greatly missed.
