Hey Mom,
Today is not an easy day for anyone that knew you, including myself. I just want to say that we all love you and miss you more than you'll ever know. I haven't been home in awhile but I know you'd be proud of all you're kids, Holly has started to drive isn't that crazy. Andy can drive a dirt bike way better than I can and Mitzi has grown into such a cutie. I think I'm more like you than I admitted when I was a kid. I'm thinking of going skydiving in Hawaii. Not sure anyone in the family would approve but you haha. I wish you were here so I could tell you all about my deployment stories. And to drink some of that peppermint mocha coffee with you. I sure do miss you Mom, we all do.

Dear Nicole,

Your death took everything away from me.
Not just the future I thought we’d have, but the pieces of myself I don’t know how to find anymore.

You loved my laugh — that silly, loud thing that used to fill the room.
And now, it feels like you took it with you.
Sometimes I catch myself holding back, as if without you here, my laugh doesn’t belong anymore.

You were my anchor, my hope, and suddenly you’re gone —
and all I’m left with is an emptiness so vast it feels like it will swallow me whole.

I’m angry, shattered, confused.
I want to scream at you for leaving, for the pain you left behind, for the silence that’s deafening.
But more than that, I want to understand.

Every day without you feels like losing a part of myself.
I’m drowning in memories, in “what ifs” and “why didn’ts.”
You took a part of my soul with you, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be whole again.

Nicole, I would have traded places with you in an instant. And even though I know I tried, it will never feel like enough. Because losing you broke something in me I don't know how to fix. I'm so sorry I couldn't save you.

Happy Mother's Day Mom.
You sure did a great job raising us. I realize how much you did for all of us now, you truly were a great Mother. I know times were not always easy but even under immense stress and uncertainty on the future, you never gave up on us. No matter how much life threw at you, you made sure to give your kids a good and memorable childhood. Weather it be taking us to the pool for hours, buying us our toys and games, being the cool mom that our friends could be around and teaching us valuable lessons, or simply tucking us in at night. And to me that is above and beyond. I'm sorry I never saw how much pain you were in. Holly, Andy, Mitzi and I love and thank you for everything you did and you are missed by many more.

I sure love ya Mom, I still have fond memories of us drinking coffee and reading early in the morning, Peppermint mocha creamer will always be my favorite.
