Randy was very dedicated to making Utah the leader in certifying pilot car operators so that they were well trained and carried the necessary equipment to do the job correctly. His efforts have helped the pilot car and oversize load industries immensely! My condolences and love for his family and friends. He will be sorely missed!

I met Randy through my pilot car group on Yahoo years ago. I learned very quickly how dedicated he was to the pilot car industry trying to make things better for us. I learned a lot from him through the group and through PEVOA. Attended my first WASHTO meeting with him and Randy Stirrett. Over the years I found him to be a very honest person. A person who was not afraid to go against the odd to make things happen. I also worked for him when he was doing loads. Again he did his best to make things better on loads. He will be so missed by many. I will miss him so very much. Praying for all his family and friends. R.I.P Randy, I am forever grateful for having met and known you for so long.
I lived in Richfield from 1960 - 70 and I remember Randy was a nice and decent person a good student and a hard worker. He was always busy at a time one couldn't do much else he was mowing lawns and doing yard work, later I remember I interviewed for a job with a business but decided I wasn't interested and as I recall Randy took the job, he didn't seem afraid of anything. He will, and has been missed since I couldn't locate him in these later years. I pray for his Family that they will be comforted. Jerome Brad Halgren
