Ray Ellis Gordon's Obituary
Ray Ellis Gordon passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Jordan Valley Hospital, West Jordan Campus surrounded by his loving family. We feel comfort knowing he was met at the veil surrounded by a multitude of Angels and his loving wife, Lois. Ray was born on January 26, 1935 in Huntington, Utah.
Ray was the oldest son of Ellis James Gordon and Lucy Mae Powell. On December 16, 1955 he married Lois Mae Hansen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ray was an Elder and an active member of the Church.
Ray worked for the Salt Lake City Parks Department and retired form there when he was 62 years old. Ray loved to play the Harmonica for anyone who would listen. Ray and Lois raised their children in Kearns, Utah.
Ray is survived by his children, Kevin (Angela) Gordon; Julie Seals; Bryn Gordon; Cherrie (Jim) Schneider and Edna Jones; 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; parents; younger brother, Val; his youngest son, Val S. Gordon; and 3 grandchildren, David, Carlene, Hannah.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at the LDS church located at 5720 South 4270 West. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at the Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the Jordan Valley Hospital, West Valley Campus, for the great care and compassion for Ray and his family is his final hours.
