Becca, I went back through our conversations and I can only hope you knew how much I love you and how much I believed in your success. I wanted nothing more than to see you happy and healthy; therefore, it has been very difficult to accept your passing, but it is clear to me that you are finally free. There was never any doubt in my mind that you would conquer the obstacles life threw at you. I thought it would look different but God’s plans are perfect and he called you to him. My heart is selfish and wished your freedom would have been on this Earth but I also know there is no better and more beautiful calling than that in the presence of our father. Rest in peace Becca, may your beautiful smile shine over our family for ever and ever. Watch over your beautiful children and give your dad a hug from me. I love you.

My heart has a million cracks and chips in it, I am so saddened with the passing of such a beautiful and loving spirit!
The last time I spent time with my niece Becca, was in May of 2024. It was a great day! We were both clean from drugs. We both had completed our own substance abuse programs shortly before that and were in a way celebrating our clean time together. We met in Salt Lake at a coffee house, near her residential program. For a few hours, we talked about so many things, playing catch up on all the years gone by, as if we could...we connected in our desire to staying clean, one day at a time. We talked about the things we were learning, mostly of our own "SELF", that we were becoming. We talked of our heart breaks, the little things that made us smile and weep, things that we knew we had to accept and live with or without in our lives. Becca told me she was so proud of me, for my recovery and my willingness to do something different. I felt she was determined and committed to her own recovery and I know she was doing the work!
My heart aches for my niece who had to grow up so fast, who carried her life's hurts, pains and memories in a backpack that was so heavy!
I pray Becca is resting in God's arms and we'll meet up when He sees fit!
