Rebecca "Becca" Jayne Gonzales' Obituary
Rebecca "Becca" Jayne Gonzales 37 of SLC, Utah, passed away after a long battle with a substance abuse disorder on 03-19-2026. Her death was preceded by her father Samuel Gonzales. She was born in Wenatchee Washington on 01-04-1989 and moved to Utah in 1990. She attended schools within the Salt Lake Valley and also study an on-line business course to continue her education. She was a very passionate and a intelligent woman.
Becca was the middle child and had four siblings, and two bonus siblings. Her "POP's", Victor and I made a lot of wonderful memories together with all the children growing up in the beautiful mountains that surround our family here in Utah. She always enjoyed learning all that she could out camping, fishing sledding, hiking, campfires and she had a great love for the stars above.
Rebecca's addiction and lifestyle came at a price both for her and our family. While her beautiful smile and funny faces will live on in her two birth children, it is unfortunate that she never met many of her niece's and nephew's. She did love that she shared her birthday with one of her nephews, however she had a new niece who was born on the day she passed.
As a young adult, Becca developed a way about her that made everyone that she loved and befriended feel special.
To her, life was about "living for the moment!" She was always aware and fully present with her people. She was completely engaged and made those moments memorable.
While we are heartbroken, we take comfort in knowing that she is now free from her pain and the struggle that addiction brought into her life. Our family loved her deeply and our only wish was that she would accept that nobody can overcome mental health disorders coupled with addiction, alone. We all need help sometimes.
Pride is the root of all evil. It separates us from the people that we love. If you have a substance abuse or mental health disease, let your wall down and PLEASE reach out for help. It is not too late!
You can call 211 for various resource options available to those in Utah.
With grateful hearts we thank everyone for all of your heartfelt condolences and prayers for our family.
A memorial date for or my beautiful daughter is TBD.
Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
