Rebecca Mackay's Obituary
Rebecca (Becky) Mccleery Mackay returned to her Heavenly Home on March 23 2013 following many years of illness. Becky was welcomed into this world by her parents Donald Nephi and Joyce Cook McCleery on October 8 1942. Her parents, a niece Robynlyn and nephew Nicholas along with other family and friends greeted her in upon her transition.
Becky made Utah her home, living the majority of it in Murray and Salt Lake City. She graduated from South High in 1961. Becky married Kent Mackay on March 8, 1962, later divorced. Becky was a talented artist, enjoyed writing poetry, and sending cards to friends and family. She loved to sing, especially church hymns. Becky was a life long active member of the LDS Church and loved the gospel with all her heart. Becky was friendly and loved to visit. She will be missed by many.
Although her life was challenging, she is now free from the trials she endured throughout her life. Becky’s passing is difficult for her family, but they receive comfort in knowing she is finally at peace. Her family wishes to thank her wonderful friends, and associates who have so willingly helped her in various ways during her journey on earth and at this time as Becky embarks upon her next journey.
Surviving Becky are her daughters: Tiffanie(Wayne) Birch and children: Rylie and Coleman. Monique (Sherri Olmsted) Mackay and children: Austin and Alexis: her siblings: Erma Matson- Salt Lake City Utah, Charlotte(Steve) Jansen -West Valley Utah, Susan(Craig Wilding)- Syracuse Utah,Janet Beck-Salt Lake City Utah, Donna (Larry) Elcock- Riverton Wyoming, Donald Cook(Marilyn) McCleery- Murray Utah. Several Nieces, Nephews cousins, and a host of friends who loved her unconditionally.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00am, Monday, April 1, 2013 at the LDS Chapel located at 5506 Vine Street (approx 8th East and 5500 So. ) Murray, Utah. There will be a viewing at 10;00 am.. Becky will be laid to rest at Elysian Burial Gardens Cemetery,
