Reinhard Dunkel's Obituary
Reinhard Dunkel, 61, of Sandy, Utah, passed away on November 1, 2024.
Born on May 10, 1963, in Bielefeld, Germany to Aloys and Hannelore Dunkel. Reinhard came to the US in his 20s to study. He obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Utah in chemistry and started his own company, ScienceSoft, LLC, to develop and market software for analyzing NMR spectral data.
Reinhard loved country music. His hobbies were playing the guitar and painting.
Reinhard is survived by his wife of 24 years, Xinzi Wu; his brother, Winfried Dunkel; and his sister, Mechtild Deuss. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aloys and Hannelore Dunkel.
A private funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on November 9, 2024, at the Premier Funeral Services, Midvale, Utah.
Reinhard’s humor, generosity, and kindness will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
