The Flint Family have always been dear friends to the Dave Holbrook family. This first started when our parents were in high school at Davis High back in the late 30's. They remained friends with all of us kids and were more like cousins and shared the love for each other. We went on trips to Yellowstone when we were young and other adventures throughout life with the whole family. Many great meals shared by great cooks from both the Flints and Holbrooks. We had many great times visiting the farm in West Point and always were made welcome. It was always a treat to to visit them. Richard was so much fun to be around and yes we sometimes got into trouble with our mischievous ideas!! The whole family have been so nice to us through the years and are now in out prayers and thoughts at this sad time. Richard will be so excited to see our parents, his parents and grandparents. He will always be remembered by us as a genuine friend!

Richard,
There is so much to say. We have some great stories and times together.
Some favorite ones that come to mind. When you lived in Hooper, Staci and I came to visit from Oregon. Priscilla the 300lb pig got out of her pen and we chased her around the block because she wanted to go for a walk😂 you got so fed up and grabbed a cattle prod while trying to keep it out of Judy’s eye because she’d get upset with you. Finally got old Priscilla in!
Also same trip. I was in shorts and flip flops and you asked me to come help shoe the little Shetland pony “little bit” you had me sit on it, to keep from bucking. “Ah it’ll be fine I don’t think he can lift you” was what you said. Well after Little Bit stomped my feet so bad and they were black and blue I looked at you and all you said “hell that horse was stronger then I thought”
Also the many road trips down south the last couple years, I thoroughly enjoyed being updated every town on the price of gas, how many houses were being built, and last but not least the traffic 😂 I want you to know on the way down from Salt Lake from coming up to clean your house out I am not kidding when I say this. Staci said “good hell look at all the traffic, where are all these people going?” I litterally just stared at her and said” well as long as your alive Richard isn’t dead” I thought you’d be proud!
The kids are gonna miss their suckers, don’t worry we snagged the 50 you had in the room for them!

My brother Richard was a big teaser of me and my younger brother when we were young kids. He loved to get a raise out of me. He was adventurous. Had a great imagination and could come up with some crazy, fun even dangerous ideas growing up. He loved to farm with our dad and his brother. He drove a tractor and truck at a real young age. He was a hard worker. He loved the gospel and held many callings in our church. He was All right in 2 bishoprics. He teased me the most in our younger years and in our old age we became close friends and helped each other out all the time. We talked and got together often. Went to temple together. Talked health problems out. Talk about our kids and went out to dinner together. As his kidney and heart failure got worse the last few weeks I was scared that he was going to die. I was praying he wouldn’t. But Wednesday morning when he left this world behind I was heart broken, but I know he was probably so excited as he seen our folks and grandparents, aunts, uncles and people he knew. We had talked about Heaven a lot and about the second coming and how crazy this world is and has gotten. And our political choices and sad state of affairs our world is in. Im sure he was happy to have escaped this crazy reality and go home to heaven. His poor sick body was a burden and he had so many dr. Appointments and tests and blood draws ect. So expensive and he was just sick of them but I know he still wanted to live and do more things. Richard, thanks for the love and memories. For all the laughs and tears we’ve shared. For being strong and enduring to the end. I’ll love you forever and look forward to being with you again! ❤️❤️🙏🏻
