Richard Holt Flint's Obituary
Richard Holt Flint, a cherished member of the Farr West community, passed away in the early morning of August 28, 2024, after a long battle with medical issues. Born on July 25, 1948, in Ogden, Utah, Richard was the son of Glen W. Flint and Lois Holt Flint. Raised on the family farm in West Point, Utah, Richard developed a deep love for farming, which remained a central part of his life.
A proud graduate of Clearfield High School, class of 1966, Richard's commitment to service was evident early on. He honorably served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Montana from 1967 to 1969. Following his mission, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves for four years.
Richard’s passions included farming alongside his father, serving in his church callings, and attending the temple. He loved hunting trips with family, raising horses, traveling, watching old western movies, and attending rodeos. A devoted fan of BYU and the Utah Jazz, Richard also had a knack for sales and relished conversing with people.
Richard is survived by his beloved children: Shannon, Chad, Russel, Mike, and Staci; his cherished grandchildren: Cierra, Tanner, Ashtyn, Haylee, Kyler, Cambree, Brooklyn, Rylee, and Madison; and his siblings: Saundra (Noall) Child, Jeffrey (Patty) Flint, Vickie Newton, Maureen (Bruce) Chandler, and Steve Flint. He is also remembered fondly by his dear friend Brenda Fullmer and her family.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Lois Flint, and his granddaughter, Kiara Bird.
Richard’s legacy of love, service, and dedication will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral and viewing services will be held at Premier Funeral Services in Roy Utah, September 4th, 2024 Viewing 9:30-10:30 AM Funeral 10:30-11:30 and internment at 12:00 PM at the West Point Cemetery.
