I remember two things that I'll never forget. One time grandma Bush was watching us overnight, and I slept in uncle Bob's room down in the basement. He started telling scary stories and shining a flashlight under his chin. It scared me so much I started to cry and scream. Grandma finally had to tell him to knock it off. The other time was when I jumped off the porch at my house and broke my ankle and he carried me all over. I was so amazed at his kindness. I truly loved my uncle Bob.

I was sorry to hear of the passing of my friend Bob. He was fun to be around and always made sure to say hello when I saw him. His family made sure of the same. Raylene was and still is a blessing to everyone. Bob and Raylenes children babysat our children and when they were babysitting Janice and I always felt comfortable because our children were in good hands. We are so sad to learn of the passing of Bob. He and his family were great friends to us and our family when we both lived in Marriott. When we first moved to Marriott, Bob and Raylene invited us for dinner at the park with our families. We really appreciated their welcoming kindness and friendship after our first move. He will be missed for sure. 🕊️️🕊️️🕊️️💐🌹🌷🥀🌻He was a good soul. He and his wife served on our little island in St Lucia and I've loved them from since. ... Any one who knew him should remember him having a cute big smile on his face. ... Even in his last days, knowing that he was on his last days, ... he was his jovial jolly self, ... making jokes and keeping a positive spirit. He made me tear up when he said ... "looks like I'm going to meet Him soon" (Heavenly Father) ... while we were talking. ... My response was "the best place to be" ... I'm grateful and thankful to have known him. He was very talented. ... I'm glad I was able to see and talk to him, only a few days before he went to rest peacefully, Heavenly Father worked it out and made it possible, and I'm blessed to have been given the opportunity to have my last conversation with him, through the help of my daughter and his wife. I'm thankful for his wife who invited my daughter to the open house, where she too was able to get to see and speak with him for a final time. ...

My many treasured memories of uncle Bob include: the duets with Gary at Grandma & Grandpa Bush”s house; watching him begin his graphic artist career in the basement of Dad’s print shop; delivering my mission call to our house when he was working as a mail carrier; his one-of-kind Christmas cards; the Christmas performance of “Little Drummer Boy” with Mom, Nona & Gary —-amazing!—especially with Gary & Bob cracking up during their ‘puddly-pum’ part 😀; Bob & Raylene’s support for us when we all lived in Georgia—driving six-hour round trips to celebrate special events with us; Bob’s support for our son Ben, who is also an artist; Bob’s sweet support for Mom during her final years; and, finally, his wonderful example as a true disciple of Christ throughout his life, including his service as a young and senior missionary. —❤️ With love from David Carlsen

Growing up with one of my uncle Bob's paintings in our basement was fun. It covered most of one wall. It hung there for at least 20 years. I thought he was famous! There was another painting of an outhouse he did that hung nearby. There was a story behind that painting but I never really new what it was. He was sooooo talented!!!!
