Ronald Alfred Kunitz's Obituary
Ronald Alfred Kunitz, 91 years of age, graduated on Friday 23,2023 from his home in Provo Utah. Ronnie was born on July 31, 1931, in Cape Town South Africa to Daisy and Carl Kunitz. Ronnie was proceeded in death by his younger sister Edwina Swartzberg, whom he adored. Ronnie lived in Pretoria where he met and married Patricia Joan Harvey. They were married on December 9, 1961. They were sealed in the London temple on 27 July 1963 . Ronnie was referred to as MacGyver, there was nothing he could not fix. They moved to Durban by the sea, which was one of Ronnies great loves, swimming in the ocean and diving, as well as wrestling. He loved cars and spent many hours working on cars. They spent many happy years raising their two daughters, Veronica, and Mandy. He felt richly blessed to have two daughters, whom he adored. Their thing to do as a family was to go on many “expeditions” with their cousins. His youngest daughter Mandy preceded him on Feb 14, 2019. His heart was very sore, and he wanted to be with her.
Ronnie was a devoted husband and father, in later years taking excellent care of his wife. Ronnie was a great man of integrity. Ronnie was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many callings, he was a branch president for many years on the Bluff, Durban South Africa and then also served as a Bishop there. He served on the stake high council for many years. In 1996, they moved to Tooele Utah, he was called again to be a bishop, at a more mature age. He was an exceptional home teacher, when he was assigned to a family, they never wanted him changed. He always had a twinkle in his eye, greeted everyone, included everyone, and made them feel special. He had a gift of showing kindness and compassion and gratitude.
He was a good and faithful servant of the Lord. He leaves behind his adored wife Patsy, his favorite first born daughter Veronica, his favorite son in-law John, and favorite grandson Ryan, and favorite great grandson Ryker, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, who will all cherish his loving memory. “He is Home”.
