Ruth Zesiger Peterson's Obituary
Ruth Zesiger Peterson, 67, raised in Centerville, later lived in Salt Lake and Holladay, Utah, passed away on the morning of January 20, 2019 with her daughter by her side.
She is survived by her daughter Tami McMahan, her three Grandsons Nathan Peterson, Cameron Kipp and Parker Kipp (Morgan), her only granddaughter Aubrey Peterson and her sister Konnie Jenkins (Roland). She is preceded in death by her son Todd Peterson, parents LaVar and Eleanor Zesiger, her brother Paul Zesiger and her sister Elaine Mater.
Ruth worked at Salt Lake Community College for 40 years, until her retirement in February 2017. She loved knitting, crocheting, books, roses, Nasa and anything to do with Space. She especially loved her grandchildren. She was the most amazingly incredible Mom and Grandma anyone could ever hope for! She always sacrificed to give to everyone who knew her. She had a very tender and kind spirit. She also had a great sense of humor. She very wisely, always told all of us to handle everything in life with a sense of humor. She also always made it a point to tell us to do something kind for someone every single day. She was a lifelong Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a deep love and connection with the Savior. She also had a close relationship with her only living sister, Konnie. Ruth's only son passed away a few short months ago. She was really looking forward to being with her Son and our Savior again.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Ruth's Life will be held on Monday, January 28th at 12:00 pm at 2080 East 5165 South, Holladay, Utah. In lieu of flowers, please give to the Wounded Warrior Project.
