Sally Smith Brown's Obituary
Sally Brown, nee Smith, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s.
Sally was born in Hackettstown, New Jersey, in 1932 and was a long-time resident of Verona, New Jersey. A 1949 graduate of Hackettstown High School, she attended the University of Vermont and graduated in 1953. She was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority throughout her college years.
Sally met her husband Gordon Brown at UVM and they married in 1952. Together they had 3 sons - Peter, Bruce, and Mark. Upon retiring in 1988, they moved full time to Pawlet, Vermont, where she lived until 2016, when she joined son Mark and his wife in Utah to spend her remaining time.
Sally is survived by her sons Peter (MaryPat), Bruce (Terry), and Mark (Tammy), her brother Charles Andrew Smith, her sister Janie Long (Richard), 5 grandchildren - Jason, Russell, Jeffrey, Jessica, and Elizabeth, and 11 nieces and nephews.
Sally will be greatly missed for her love of family, sense of humor, sharp wit, and wonderful cheesecakes.
There will be no service as per her wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Pawlet, Vermont Scholarship Fund or the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
