Sandra Allen Bywater's Obituary
Sandra (Sandy) Allen Bywater
October 14, 1962 – October 25, 2019
It is with a heavy heart that we write that Sandra (Sandy) Allen Bywater passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019 surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.
Sandy was born on October 14, 1962 in Salt Lake City as the oldest child to Paul Tad Allen and Cleta Moosman Allen.
Sandy attended Cyprus High School where she graduated with Honors. She was also selected as a Sterling Scholar in Home Economics. She then went on to attend LDS Business College.
Sandy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission in the South Africa Cape Town mission from August 1984 to February 1986.
Sandy married David John Bywater on March 20, 1993. They were blessed with two daughters. Shelby Lucy Bywater came to their family first, followed by Shayla Ella Bywater three years later. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on March 24, 2007 as a family for time and eternity.
After working for Air Terminal Gifts at the Salt Lake City Airport for twenty years she left to spend more time with her girls. She took great pleasure in helping and supporting both Shelby and Shayla in their schoolwork, swimming, dancing and Drill Team.
She looked forward to the yearly 4th of July trips to Boulder for family reunions and visits with Uncle Jay and Aunt Madge.
Her greatest joy in life came as she experienced the achievements of her children. Some of these achievements were watching Shelby graduate from Salt Lake Community College and serve in the Ohio Cleveland mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed the countless hours supporting Shayla in her dance and Spinnaker competitions. In August of this year, Sandy had the privilege of helping with and witnessing the marriage of Shayla to Tyrone Cloward.
Having been given so many talents, Sandy was a blessing to so many. She played the piano for others whenever she was asked. Her sewing and crocheting skills brought joy to the lives of her family members and friends. Her creations are too numerous to count, and she shared them with all who had the blessing of crossing paths with her.
Sandy is survived by her parents Paul and Cleta Allen; her husband David; her children Shelby, Shayla Cloward (Tyrone); grand-puppy Nikki; her siblings Chainé Henson (Greg), Russell Allen (Kim), Troy Allen (Kandace), JB Allen (Corrine) and sister-in-law Sherie Allen (Robert).
She is preceded in death by a stillborn sister Sheila and brother Robert Lynn Allen Sr.
An evening viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Magna East Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2875 South 8000 West, Magna, Utah, 84044. A morning viewing will be from 10-10:45 am, Thursday, October 31 at the same location followed by funeral services at 11:00 am. The interment will take place at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N St. E, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103, immediately following the services.
The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Home Care and Hospice for taking care of Sandy in her final weeks, allowing her to remain at home. Visit www.premierfuneral.com to share photos and memories.
