One of our children missed almost an entire year of school one year as they fought to overcome some severe challenges. Sandra was incredibly helpful and compassionate. She held the keys to that student being able to work with teachers to stay caught up and knew the administrative system and was an advocate for them so that they could successfully get the academic credits they needed.
It's not exaggerating to say that Mrs. Sorensen's encouragement and extra support helped us keep them alive until they were stable enough to thrive on their own.
And then, with great insight, she invited our student to join the Hope Squad to use the skills they'd acquired and solidify their abilities. They gained so much from her service!
She was the kind of person who really saw the people around her and who extended love and service to all.
Sandra Sorensen made the world a better place and I'll love her forever.

I met Sandra through Marching Band at PGHS. She was the band parent president before me. She taught me the ropes of marching band and was always full of knowledge about how it all worked! She had so much energy that I wasn't sure I could keep up! She always shared stories of her kids and family and made me feel welcome. I am thankful that I got to meet her and count her as a friend. I worked with Sandra for seven years. She was always a good friend-a fierce advocate for Maeser's students. She spoke of her family often and always wanted the best for them. She was truly a loving, loyal, and dedicated soul.
