Sandra Lyn Sorenson (Hulsey)'s Obituary
Sandra, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on October 7th, 2024, at the age of 61. Born on June 18, 1963, in Silver City, New Mexico, to Gary Lee and Inez Fay Hulsey, she was a nurturing force in the lives of her seven children and nine grandchildren.
Sandra attended Rick’s College in Rexburg, Idaho, studying education where she began her journey of lifelong learning. She later graduated from Brigham Young University with her bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned a master’s degree from University of Phoenix in school counseling. Her dedication to education inspired her family and those around her. In her career, she inspired and counseled thousands of students as a school counselor and will have a lasting impact on her community for generations to come.
She was known for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support. Sandra's deep faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life, shaping her values and guiding her actions. She found joy in sharing her beliefs with others, offering comfort and encouragement to those in need. Sandra loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime, often infused with stories of faith and love that inspired her family to carry on her legacy.
She is survived by her parents, her six siblings: Dawna, Loretta, Sharon, Tawnya, Everett, and Dustin, her seven children: Donovan (Kristina), Jessica, Trevor (Liberty), Matthew (Shelby), Ethan (Rebecca), Jacob (Hyla), and Brandalyn (Joseph), and her nine grandchildren: Hunter, Jordan, Carson, Claire, Chloe, Calvin, AnnaBeth, Lucas, and Zeppelin. Her legacy of love and commitment to family will continue to shine through all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on October 12th, 2024, at 11:00 am, 942 N 500 E St, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062. A viewing will precede the funeral at 9:45 am. Sandra will be buried in Luna, New Mexico, which she loved.
Sandra will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
